Kind-hearted Couple Needs a Helping Hand, Plz Help

Donation protected
** 100% of all donations raised will go directly to Charlie and his wife Lou **

I’m writing this for my dear friend Charlie and wife “Mama Lou”. They have been married for 45 years and both worked very hard their entire lives – but they find themselves at a very unfortunate, low point needing financial help.

Both are retired, but not because they want to be… they are in "survival mode" right now and need a helping hand.

Charlie was an 18-wheeler truck driver for 51 years, until he had both legs amputated due to severe diabetes… the first leg in 2015 and the 2nd leg in 2019. He also underwent a full bypass heart surgery in 2000… and last year learned he had throat cancer! It’s hard to wrap your head around what Charlie has gone through… and yet through the grace of God, he remains positive thinking.

Likewise, his sweet wife that we call “Mama Lou” is on dialysis 3 times per week due to Stage 3 kidney disease -- and Charlie actually drives her to each dialysis appointment (and to all her other doctor appts).

Take another look at the photo I’m posting with this story… it’s heartbreaking.

WHAT’S THE MONEY FOR?

The donations I’m helping them raise will go directly to pay bills… to help them survive – to help pay their mortgage, food, car note, utilities, doctor bills and many other medical expenses that have been piling up.

This is for a very kind hearted and gentle elderly couple that can no longer work. Both live on very meager social security incomes. They have no other means to bring in money and need your help please.

This is not your typical situation of someone just putting their hand out and asking for money. They live in Richmond, Texas in a very modest home and both live well below their means.

Let me tell you the rest of their story…

The doctor that discovered Charlie’s throat cancer last year wanted to put him on Chemo and other brutal cancer treatments, but Charlie refused and said he would let God decide his fate. His doctor prescribed hospice and sent Charlie home to die.

But now, 1 full year later, Charlie somehow survived. If you ask him how he survived his throat cancer, Charlie will say without hesitation, “The good Lord has kept me alive!”

Charlie is a former pastor and man of the lord… I call Charlie every few weeks or so to say hello – and at the end of nearly every call, Charlie will ask if we can pray. And, right then and there, Charlie says the most beautiful and motivational prayer. Many days after a call with him, I feel better about life.

His wife Mama Lou was a chef in her early years working at Piccadilly Cafeteria -- and later worked as an adult sitter for elderly patients before she had to stop working due to her kidney problems.

I met Charlie only a few years ago when my dear Uncle Tom (who I was named after,  Gary Thomas Murphy) was very sick and then later passed away. I was in my uncle Tom’s hospital room one day when Charlie called him to say hello. From that moment on, Charlie and I became instant friends… but not just any friends, it felt like I had known him my entire life.

WHY AM I TELLING YOU ALL THESE DETAILS?

For one reason – I want you to see what Charlie and his sweet wife Mama Lou have dealt with in their lives... yet both have remained so positive thinking and never complain about their situation.

Please help Charlie and Mama Lou today… even $5, $10, $20 or any amount would help them greatly.

A MESSAGE FROM CHARLIE:
'Dear anyone that can help my wife and I… please understand, it is very hard for us to ask for help, we never do… but right now, we really do need your help to survive. God Bless You and Thank You for all your donations. I will pray for you.' – Charlie

Thank you, my dear friends, family, business colleagues and those we’ve never met. You are GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Sincerely,

Gary M.
