Achieving my goal to graduate early from high school and receive early decision acceptance to my dream school, Emerson College has made it possible for me to work full-time to help pay for college.  

While I have received some financial assistance and will be securing a job through the college work/study program, there is still a financial gap.  My mom has been our sole financial support for our 90-yr. old grandmother who moved in with us recently, my twin brother who is also attending college this fall and my younger brother who is in high school.  I have developed a sustainable plan for paying for college going forward that includes becoming an RA, however I will not be eligible for that until Sophomore year. 

While attending Emerson College, I would like to explore a variety of areas for sports communication.  I am particularly interested in sports media, management and broadcasting.  My part-time  position at our local sports center gave me a glimpse into the many opportunities in this field.  My professional objective is to identify the best and most fulfilling aspect for a sports career, and infuse that knowledge and excitement into the industry.  Emerson College is known for its strong network of alumni, and working with students to provide internships and career opportunities. 

Some of the best advice I have ever received was to work in a field you love.  For me, sports is the best example of what is best in people.
