Help Charlie Get Back On The Road To Helping Others
Donation protected
Charlie is one of my oldest friends, from my Renaissance Faire days; we have known each other for over a quarter of a century! For as long as I've known him, he has put others before himself; sometimes at the expense of his own health, and overall wellbeing. He has used his experience with Scouting, throughout his life, to help with first aid, camping activities, and leadership development. He has mentored both adults and youth, who have gone on to highly successful positions, in their chosen fields of study. In more recent years, he has become a Kamp Counselor, at a Faith-based Summer Day Camp Program, and a Paraeducator(classroom aide) at a local high school. He helps to shape the minds of the youth, he works with, and helps them develop character.
In the past, he has helped to care for his ailing grandparents, and father, and then focused his care on his mother, as her health declined, until her passing in early 2020.
He ran his own board game store, from 2007-2017, and he made his shop an inclusive, comfortable, and welcoming environment for adults and youth, from all walks of life.
Charlie recently had to have his roof replaced, and while homeowners insurance covered the majority of the cost, he is responsible for a One Thousand Dollar Deductible, and any costs that the insurance doesn't cover, after having the roof brought up to code. And, when it rains, it pours! Two weeks ago, Charlie's transmission died, in his car, that he relied on to get him to and from work, among other places, including the grocery store. He has been relying on friends and coworkers to take him to and from work, and anywhere else he needs to go. His mechanic has a car, that he can sell Charlie, for $5,000 plus tax, and tags, but funding is illusive. The cost of the 2009 Chevy Impala, is only a few dollars more than it would cost him, to buy a new transmission for his old car. A newer car would be the better investment, in this case. The image above is NOT the actual car, that Charlie will be trying to purchase, but it is the same make and model. Charlie has applied for loans and refinancing, but was denied for both.
Since he is too proud to ask for help, on his own, I have stepped in, as his friend, to ask for your help, on his behalf. Charlie has helped me out of more than one or two binds, during our long-time friendship, including emotional support, and even going so far, as to rid my mother's house of a hornets' nest, and an icky dead thing, done in by said hornets' nest(Poor Munch the squirrel...). He has been an excellent friend to me, and to many, many of our mutual friends, from the Renaissance Faire. Please help me to help him, with this unexpected, yet urgent need. Charlie NEEDS to have his own vehicle, especially before school starts back up the week of August 19th, so that he can continue to shape the minds of our youth, and better both their futures, and ours.
Thank you for reading, and for any donations you are able to provide. I would like to be able to hand him this amount in cash, so that perhaps he'll be able to get a cash discount, for the Impala. May God bless you, as you bless Charlie, at this time.
