Calling all Angels, Help Charlie Get an MRI
Donation protected
Charlie, the spunky mini poodle with a crooked smile, has faithfully served Kristin as her certified hearing dog for over nine years. September 12, Charlie experienced a neurological episode at work. After a five-hour trip to the Emergency Veterinary Hospital, Charlie’s blood tests all came back normal. Charlie now needs our help to get an MRI and spinal tap procedure as soon as possible to determine the cause and begin treatment.
An MRI with spinal tap procedure costs $3,600+, and that’s with a service dog discount! Kristin and Charlie have an inseparable bond, and she would like to have the procedure done to find out if Charlie’s condition is treatable or not. However, Kristin is still recovering physically and financially from four recent ankle surgeries, and the procedure is beyond her means. Kristin would never ask for help, so please be one of Charlie’s Angels and make a donation here in any amount to help Charlie get an MRI ASAP!
Not Just Any Dog
Kristin adopted Charlie as a one-year-old timid rescue pup with a misaligned, previously broken jaw and seven missing teeth from abuse he experienced as a puppy. Now 10 years old, Charlie is quite spritely and otherwise happy and healthy. Mini poodles live an average of 15+ years; Kristin’s last poodle lived 18 years. Due to Kristin’s allergies, getting another service dog takes time as she has to wait longer than the average two-to-three-year wait period to be matched with a service dog that doesn’t shed. Charlie has become an irreplaceable companion who has warmed the hearts and lit up the faces of many coworkers who just needed a break. Now it's our turn to help Charlie!
“All I want is for Charlie to have a great quality of life as he’s been invaluable to me all these years,” says Kristin.
