Hi, my name is Giulia and I adopted Charlie in late October. He was given to me by the previous owner who couldn’t spend as much time with him due to their work. Charlie is very needy, so he did not like being alone at home all day.
Last year he was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis, which is a chronic painful degenerative joint disease. The cartilage between the bones gradually breaks down and because of this the joints become stiff inflamed and painful. He is a scottish-fold, which gives him a predisposition for this chronic illness.
This makes everyday movements like jumping and running impossible for Charlie anymore. He struggles to walk and when it hurts too much he pulls himself with the front legs.
Our vet fortunately has found a company located near Frankfurt (equinox.vet) that said Charlie could get an X-Ray treatment to significantly slow the disease and make it less painful.
It’s done by a total of three session of a total cost of around 2500 €, the reason the gofundme is set at 3k is because of the vet needs to check his blood and take X-rays to locate all the affected cartilage.
Charlie is the sweetest soul on earth.
My boyfriend and I took him knowing he was sick. Despite this he’s a purring machine and a really happy cat.
I would be extremely grateful to any money donated towards the cause. For any questions you can contact me and I will happily answer. Please help my baby.
