Help Charlie stay in his home.

Hi my name is Charlie. I am 30 years old and live with limitations. I have a traumatic brain injury and suffered a stroke at the age of 9 due to a car accident that killed my father. I lived in a facilities most of my life and was excited to finally live a life of independency at the age of 24. I have an apartment that is in a general location that allows for easy travel to doctors appointments and fits my medical needs.

Despite qualifying for housing assistance they can only help if the rent does not exceed a certain amount; however, rent in the area has nearly doubled since 2020 and keeps rising.

Due to my disability work is very hard to find regardless of the rise in employment opportunities and the process for being accepted to a low income apartment can take years to happen due to lack of availability in this area. 

I am currently working on getting a job to stabilize my finances for being able too afford to pay rent.

 I am currently trying to figure out how to get a job that I am capable of doing. I am working with vocational rehabilitation to take steps to acquire a job. It is a timely process. That is taking longer than anticipated. For now I am continuing my fundraiser to be able to continue affording where I live until I am able too find a job.

 

The funds will be used to provide assistance for living costs and bills accrued due to loss of income.
