My daughter, Charlotte (Charlie), has always loved food—especially anything with beef. But for a long while now, she hasn’t been able to enjoy her favorite meals because of Alpha-gal syndrome. This condition means that even a simple steak can make her very sick, and it’s been heartbreaking to watch her miss out on the foods she loves most. All she wants is to be able to enjoy a meal without worrying about getting ill.
After a lot of research and talking with others, we learned that acupuncture might help Charlie manage her symptoms. There have been good reviews from people with Alpha-gal who have seen improvements, and Charlie is hopeful that this could be her chance to enjoy her favorite foods again. Unfortunately, Medicaid does not cover acupuncture, and as a parent, I simply can’t afford the cost of a month-long treatment on top of our regular bills and daily expenses.
That’s why we’re reaching out for help. I know it’s the holiday season and money is tight for everyone, but every dollar helps Charlie get closer to trying this treatment and hopefully getting back to the foods she loves. We are so grateful for any support you can give, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping Charlie on her journey.
