These words come with an extremely heavy heart… Charlie Clark has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and stage 4 bone cancer. Everyone has a “Hero” or someone that has such a profound impact that you consciously and subconsciously try to model yourself after them. Charlie Clark is that man for many. Few times in my life have I been more taken aback or seen a better example of strength than I have with Charlie. If you have ever had the privilege of sharing the deck, or fishing with him, you know what I’m talking about. Charlie is a legend in the fishing industry, and managed to do so while raising his children on his own. Charlie’s children have inherited his resilience and tenacity. His daughters embody grit and determination, and for lack of better words are forces to reckoned with. Charlie jr just graduated high school, and has grown into a young man who has built an indestructible character, who continues to choose kindness and hard work over the alternative. As well as his son Blue, has joined the United States Army, in service to our country, and is inherently a protector. That strength is directly inherited from Charlie Sr. Charlie would give you the shirt off his back, the last sandwich in his fridge, and a helping hand if he only had one. It is a privilege of my lifetime to to spend time with Charlie Clark. Charlie would never do this himself. Aside from dealing with excruciating pain on a daily basis, Charlie has been unable to work for a year-yet has still done everything and anything he could to get by and provide for his son. Social security has been a nightmare and a time consuming process, which isn’t ideal as doctors are confident there isn’t much left. It is understood times are tough for everyone. However, if you have a few bucks to spare to go to one of the best men I’ll ever know, to alleviate some financial burdens it would be an enormous blessing to the Clark family. Charlie wanted to see his son graduate and go fishing a few more times. Charlie Clark you are so very loved. Thank you all.
