My daughter Charli recently competed at the State FBLA competition for Public Speaking. I remember hearing her practice in her room and thinking she was listening to a Ted Talk—she’s got real skill! Charli did an amazing job at State and is now eligible for Nationals in San Antonio this June. This is an incredible opportunity for her, one that will no doubt help her be successful in the years to come, including scholarships and leadership experiences.

Our family has been financially stretched since we welcomed a new baby last April and shifted to a single income so that we could have a stay-at-home parent. Money has been very tight this year, and covering the costs for Charli to attend Nationals is a challenge. Your support will give this kid a chance to get out of our small town, broaden her horizons, and pursue her academic and leadership goals. She’s worked so hard in academics—almost straight As—and in FBLA, and she truly deserves this opportunity.
