My name is Charleseona Hutchins, and my lifelong dream is to become a registered nurse (RN) — to help others and be a voice of compassion in the medical field, especially for those of us living with sickle cell anemia.

Living with this condition has taught me resilience, strength, and empathy. Unfortunately, it has also meant financial limitations that keep me from moving forward as I should. I’m on a fixed income due to my health, and while I’ve worked hard to stay in school and complete every program I’ve started, there’s one major obstacle left: expunging my record so I can be eligible for nursing school admissions and licensure.

I’ve done everything I can to save for this, but life happens — medical costs, caring for my daughter, and daily expenses have made it impossible to reach the amount needed.
