Help Charles Smile Again: Support His Dental Care

After more than 30 years struggling with a crack addiction, living most of those years homeless in NYC, through faith and a strong supportive community, Charles found freedom from his addiction and embraced life that had nearly passed him by. For his 6+ years of sobriety, he spread love and joy to everyone he encountered out of deep gratitude to be set free.

During COVID, Charles experienced the perfect storm. Both of his parents had recently passed, he contracted a serious case of COVID, lost his job (working with the homeless and addicts), and most of all, lost his community due to the isolation of the pandemic. He relapsed and spent a few years back on the streets feeding his addiction.

Eventually, he found his way home. He has completed detox and entered into a recovery program. He has reconnected with some of his supportive community and is nearly 200 days sober.

Charles developed some serious dental problems while he was back in the grip of addiction and does not have the resources to address them. The purpose of this GoFundMe effort is to support Charles by covering his dental costs.
