In May 2024, Skip underwent a second surgery on his leg to place the remaining hardware. His recovery has been slow, and unfortunately, his bones have not fully healed.

In December 2024, Skip received a devastating diagnosis of esophageal cancer. He completed four rounds of chemotherapy and had his esophagus removed on May 21, 2025. The surgery was delayed several times due to infections and hospitalizations.

Cancer was later detected in the biopsy, and in July Skip began a second series of chemotherapy. Sadly, he developed another infection, which has placed him back in the hospital. We remain hopeful that he will be able to continue with his chemo protocol.

Your continued support and prayers mean the world to Skip and Amy during this difficult journey.
