Help Charles Restore His Home & Hope

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Charles Page has lived a life marked by responsibility, love, and loss—often quietly, without asking for help.

Charles suffers from serious health issues. He lives with a rare blood cancer called polycythemia vera, among other complications. His health forced him into early retirement in 2017 after working for the same factory for over 40 years, leaving him dependent solely on social security. To make matters worse, a clerical error made by a doctor caused Charles to lose a disability award he desperately needed. Through no fault of his own, he’s been handed a series of setbacks that would overwhelm most people.

Charles moved back into his family home years ago to care for his ailing, widowed father, he ultimately lost to cancer. Not long after the loss of his father, he suffered a devastating loss when his only biological child and son passed away suddenly after a tragic accident just two days after his 20th birthday, and only 7 days before Christmas.

Today, Charles lives completely alone in the same house he was raised in, the home his father and stepmother built in 1958. When they passed, he took over the house, determined to keep it standing as a place filled with memories and family history. But time has taken its toll—on both Charles and the house.

Despite everything, Charles never complains. He survives on very limited income and what little savings he has left. This Christmas has brought another setback for Charles. Charles has been faced with a devastating reality that he cannot afford. The house - his last tie to his father and his son - is now in urgent need of costly repairs just to remain safe and livable. The old plumbing in the home is collapsing, and the health and safety of his home is being compromised. Charles doesn’t have the means to pay for or to finance the 35K cost presented to him by multile companies to make the necessary repairs to keep the home livable. City grants are limited and can take up to a year to receive. And time is of the essence.

This fundraiser is about more than fixing a house—it’s about preserving dignity, safety, and stability for a man who has already lost so much. Charles is not asking for luxury or comfort. He just needs help to remain in his home, safe and secure, for the years he has left.

Any donation—no matter the size—will help ease this heavy burden and go directly toward critical home repairs and ensure Charles can continue living with dignity.

If you’re unable to donate, sharing this story means just as much.

Thank you.
