Charles Payton Caudill, "Chuck" to his friends, "Payton" to his family, died early Saturday morning in a car accident.
Payton was a warm and caring person, the kind of guy you'd want by your side. Known for being wise beyond his years, down to earth and responsible, he always had time to hang out with his grandfather, watch his younger cousins, or step up to help a friend. Even though he was only 20 years old, Payton was quickly becoming a pillar of his family. Everyone relied on him because they knew they could. He helped his little sister with her homework whenever she needed it, and he was always ready to play video games with her. Or board games. Or card games. Any kind of games, really :) He was a good listener, and all three of his sisters looked up to him. His step dad's favorite thing about Payton was his wit--he could trade witty banter with kids and adults alike.
Payton loved to cook--in fact, he made a homemade spring form cheesecake for his mom on Mother's Day, and even though he had moved out and had a place of his own, he regularly came over to cook dinner for his family--and to do his laundry.
Payton's family is devastated, and struggling to come to terms with this sudden tragic loss. It is truly overwhelming, and they need help paying for his funeral. The money raised will go directly to his family. Any amount is deeply appreciated.
