Help Chuck & Jamie Rebuild After Fire
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lisa Hite, and I’m fundraising for my friends Jamie Gillaspie and Charles (Chuck) Babb who lost their home, cars, and pets in a house fire. Charles and Jamie’s house was struck by lightning, and the ensuing damage is devastating. The house was over 100 years old and was lost to flames quickly. Charles and Jamie live at this residence with Charles’ two children, Luke, 10, and Eric, 9, who both were fortunately not home at the time of the lightning strike and subsequent fire. The couple’s two dogs made it out, but three of their cats did not, and two more cats, George and Edie, are still missing. Charles works as a heavy machine field technician and Jamie works as an office administrator for a heavy equipment dealer. Jamie is a kind-hearted soul who looks after many of the feral cats in her area as well, despite suffering from a chronic illness, called Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension, that brings episodes of blindness and near-constant crippling pain due to excessive amounts of spinal fluid being produced in her body that increases pressure on the brain. There is no known cause or cure for this illness. In addition, she also has fibromyalgia which causes its own host of medical issues and pain. These illnesses severely impact her ability to work. Funds will be donated to help Charles and Jamie recoup losses for their family, as they will need a new residence and new vehicles.
