An introduction
Hi, Thanks so much for taking the time to learn more about my musical artistry. In 2020, I released my first EP across all major streaming platforms titled "A Survivor's Reward." That project was therapy for me, and a gift to the world. Now, I'm back at it again working on my 8-song EP that will be released this summer, "Blackberry." In "Blackberry," you'll get more of the same authentic, raw storytelling from a Black, queer perspective. "Blackberry" contemplates the things that have troubled me the most, while weaving in the things that have also healed me the most. But, if we can't raise the funds by March 1, 2022, these ideas will just remain an idea in my head, and you won't get to hear them. Let's not let that happen! Will you let me know you're behind me and contribute today?
Where the money goes
Although my music has been streamed tens of thousands of times over the last year and countless people have expressed the impact it has had on them, the total income generated barely covers my website fees. Meanwhile, the cost to produce each song is approximately $2,000. While I play the guitar, bass, and harmonica, I must pay a fair wage for each accompanying instrumentalist, including the brass, string, and percussion sections. And in this upcoming EP, even back-up singers must be considered. Last but not least, studio time rentals and a professional sound engineer add tremendously to the cost. All in all, this is what it takes to make quality music that keeps listeners tapping replay over and over again.
