Charles and His Battle

Charles is a joyful 9-year-old boy who will be turning 10 in just a couple of weeks. He's a sweet boy who loves building Legos and playing with friends. He adores his sister, Hannah (17), and his brother, Henry (11). Recently, Charles was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. In Charles's case, the leukemia cells are present in both his blood and spinal fluid.

The Road Ahead

Charles has started chemotherapy treatments, requiring him to stay in the hospital for several more weeks. It's incredibly tough to watch our happy, energetic boy confined to a hospital room, longing to go home. Despite everything, Charles faces each day with courage and a smile.

Impact on the Family

His father, Jeremiah Allen, owns a plumbing business. After spending most nights at the hospital with Charles, Jeremiah still works tirelessly during the day to earn an income and support the family. The emotional toll on Charles's siblings and the entire family is immense, especially when Charles asks to go home.
