I never imagined I would have to ask strangers for help keeping a roof over my son's head.
For months, I was without work after losing my job because I spoke up about sexual harassment. Those months without an income put us further and further behind financially. I fell behind on our bills and housing costs while desperately trying to find work and keep our lives from falling apart.
I am working again now. I am doing everything I can to rebuild what was lost, but I am trying to climb out of a financial hole that became far too deep while I was unemployed. Unfortunately, I am running out of time.
We are in danger of losing our home.
And for me, this isn't simply about losing a house.
It's about what happens to my son if we lose it.
If I cannot get caught up, my son may have no choice but to live with his father. Because of the abuse and circumstances he has experienced, this is something I have fought desperately to prevent. The thought of being unable to keep my son in the home where he feels safe and instead having to watch him go somewhere I fear for his well-being is absolutely terrifying.
I am his mother. I am supposed to be able to protect him.
Right now, I feel like I am fighting against a clock I cannot stop.
I have swallowed my pride and asked for help because I don't know what else to do. I am working. I am trying to catch up. I am looking for every opportunity I can find. But I cannot undo months without income overnight.
I need help before we lose our home.
Any amount can make a difference. Even a small donation brings us one step closer to getting caught up and keeping a roof over my son's head. If you cannot donate, please share our story. You never know who might see it, who might be able to help, or where one share could lead.
I am terrified.
I am exhausted.
But I am not giving up on my son.
I am asking for help because I need to keep him safe, keep him home, and give him the stability every child deserves.
Please help me save our home before it is too late.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, for sharing it, and for helping us in any way you can.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me fight for my son.
