As most of you guys know, my French bulldog Chappie is my baby. I’ve had him since he was 10 weeks old and he’s been my best buddy for 9 years. I love him more than anything. He still has lots of years left in him and I don’t know what I’d do without him, so I’m asking—please help any way you can.
Chappie has always been a joyful and loving companion, but over the past month, he’s been facing some serious gastrointestinal issues. It started with mild symptoms, but things have gradually gotten worse, and despite my best efforts and multiple vet visits, we still don’t have clear answers. I recently learned that the pet insurance I thought I had through my job is actually just a discount plan, and unfortunately, none of the vets I trust are covered. This has left me paying for everything out of pocket, and I’ve already spent most of the money I’d saved for my own clinicals next year on Chappie’s care.
All the tests and diagnostics so far have come back negative, but Chappie’s condition hasn’t improved. He now needs to see an internal medicine specialist, and the next step is likely an endoscopy to finally get to the root of his GI issues. The costs for these specialist visits, procedures, and possible hospitalization are overwhelming. Chappie hasn’t eaten in over a week, and I’ve been taking him in for subcutaneous fluids and vitamins, but outpatient care just isn’t working anymore.
I’m reaching out for help because Chappie means everything to me, and I want to give him the best chance at recovery. Any support you can offer will go directly toward his medical care and help us get through this difficult time. Thank you so much for reading our story and for considering a donation to help Chappie heal.
