Howdy! I am Zachary AKA Chaos. I live in Springfield Oregon and work as a Receptionist and PETCT Technologist Assistant at Oregon Imaging Centers. I am living with a rare condition called Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome (MALS), which causes severe abdominal pain and makes everyday life a constant struggle. My pain has become so intense that every meal is a difficult decision, weighing the consequences of pain against the benefits of eating. I often wake up feeling sick and spend each day fighting the urge to throw up. After more than 12 years of this, my doctors have recommended a ligament release and ganglionectomy surgery, scheduled for September 1st. Without this surgery, my pain will only get worse, and I may eventually need a nasogastric food tube to help me eat.
The funds raised here will help cover the costs of my hospital stay, medication, and post-surgical dressings. They will also help me stay housed in my apartment during recovery and pay for nutrient dense liquids, as I will be on a liquid diet for several weeks after surgery. Every donation will directly support my recovery and daily needs, giving me a chance to heal and regain some normalcy in my life.
Thank you for supporting me through this. Your help means the world to me. With enough support, I can finally live like a normal person—something I haven't had for over 12 years. I am grateful for any help. I want to pursue a career and education in Nuclear Engineering, and this surgery would allow me to do that without random flare-ups or days full of debilitating pain. Your kindness and generosity will help me take the next step toward a brighter future.
