Help Support Chantel’s Recovery After Emergency Surgery

Our dear friend Chantel, a devoted single mom, recently went through a frightening and unexpected medical emergency.

On Monday, Chantel went to the ER with severe abdominal pain and was quickly diagnosed with appendicitis. She was taken into surgery right away—but during the procedure, doctors became concerned about the appearance of her appendix and the possibility of cancer. Out of an abundance of caution, they performed a more extensive surgery, removing about one-fifth of her bowel to ensure any potentially dangerous tissue was fully addressed.

Yesterday, Chantel received some incredibly relieving news: the mass was not cancerous. While we are all so grateful for this outcome, Chantel is still in the hospital recovering from what turned into a major abdominal surgery.

As a single mom, this unexpected hospitalization and recovery period brings not only physical and emotional challenges, but also financial strain.
