Chanla Souvongkham is a retired farmer who lived by Otake Camp. When the Kona Low Storms hit, her life was turned upside down. The floodwaters swept through her home, leaving her with nothing. Her house was deemed unlivable, and she hasn’t been allowed to return. Now, Chanla is staying with friends and family on other farm lands, trying to find stability after losing her home.
Chanla needs help to get back on her feet. She’s seeking basic living assistance and support to replace her belongings, so she can rebuild her life and regain her independence. The loss of her home has been devastating, but with the support of the community, she hopes to start anew.
Chanla is deeply grateful for any help. Every act of kindness and generosity means the world to her. Your support will make a real difference in her journey to recovery, and she appreciates every donation, no matter the amount.
This GoFundMe was created by the volunteers from Help Maui Rise and will directly benefit Chanla Souvongkham.
