My name is Chanise, and I’m a mother doing everything I can to protect and support my children. Yesterday, my son Sebastian was shot in the thigh while all my children were outside. This terrifying experience made it clear that we can’t continue to live in our current environment. My daughter Chloe should be celebrating her prom, her college acceptances, and her graduation, but instead, we are focused on healing and safety.

For years, I’ve worked to create positive change in our community. In 2021, I started a nonprofit called 'Linking Our Hearts' to give kids more opportunities and resources. I funded these efforts out of my own pocket until 2023, because I believe it takes a village to make real change. After a car accident in 2022, I struggled with pain but kept caring for my babies. I had plans to do more for the community, but this recent tragedy changed everything.

Now, my priority is to move my family to a safer home and get my children the therapy they need—especially Sebastian, who will also need physical therapy. The funds from this fundraiser will help us with moving expenses, therapy, and recovery. I’m just trying to save whatever innocence my babies have left.
