Hello, my name is Marcy, and in 2019, I had the privilege of meeting a wonderful family in Bali, Indonesia. Over the years, we have stayed in touch, and whenever possible, I have helped support them in meaningful ways.

In 2020 and 2022, with the generosity of others, we raised funds to install an irrigation system, allowing them to grow their own food more efficiently. We also contributed to Ni Nengah Aprillia’s education, helping her stay in school and pursue her dreams.

I believe in doing what I can to make the world a better place, and for me, that starts with the connections I make along the way. Traveling has given me the opportunity to meet incredible people from all walks of life, and I feel deeply connected to the stories, challenges, and dreams of those I cross paths with. Supporting Aprillia and her family is not just about financial help—it’s about sharing kindness, lifting each other up, and creating opportunities that can change lives.

ABOUT ME : APRIL

My name is Ni Nengah Aprillia, and I am 17 years old. I grew up in a village and completed

my education from elementary to junior high school there. Life in the village taught me many

things about simplicity, hard work, and the importance of appreciating every opportunity that comes my way. However, when it was time to continue my education to senior high school,

financial constraints forced me to make a big decision in my life—living in an orphanage, far

from my parents and beloved family.

Even though I had to be separated from my family, I didn’t let this situation weaken my spirit.

Instead, I used it as motivation to keep striving and achieving. I am a karateka who has

achieved success in various levels of competition, from the regency, provincial, national, to international levels. Every medal I have earned is the result of hard work, discipline, and an unyielding spirit. These achievements are proof that, despite coming from a background full of limitations, I am capable of competing and showcasing my abilities on a broader stage.

In addition, I also have a talent for Balinese dance. This art form is not just a hobby, but a

part of my identity. I often perform at various cultural events, including at well-known hotels.

Every performance is not just a show, but an expression of my love for the rich culture and

traditions of Bali.

I have a strong determination to continue my education in the field of tourism for one year. For me, studying in this field is not just a dream, but the main path to changing my life and

my family’s future. I believe that with an education in tourism, I can achieve success, make my parents proud, and contribute meaningfully to society. I want to prove that financial limitations will never stop someone from dreaming big and achieving their goals. I want to break free from the cycle of poverty, build a better future, and show everyone that I am capable of achieving my dreams, so no one will look down on me again
