Hello. My name is Angie Chang and I am fundraising for my father, Chong Chang, who recently had a stroke in June. This is the second one that he has had in the last 7 years. As a result, this stroke has left him with extreme weakness to his left side of his body and is experiencing vertigo. He requires a lot of physical, occupational and speech therapy. He will need round-the-clock medical and long term care. My father is currently undergoing rehabilitation in a nursing facility in Montgomery Village Healthcare center in Maryland. We are hoping he will gain some of his mobility back and regain some of his independence back. Right now he requires 100% reliance of the medical staff for mobility.

My dad worked hard all through his life and he is a very kind, well-spirited man who took primary care of his family which includes his two daughters and his wife.

While the family is experiencing how to navigate this going forward, we thought we would take it upon ourselves to set up this go fund me to hopefully help ease our family's financial and emotional burden due to the dependency on Medicare, which is his only health insurance. The Medicare coverage is no longer covering a wide portion of what we need for our family. Our concern is that we can no longer afford the medical expenses that he needs to stay. We really want him to get the best of care and get the intensive therapy that he needs. Our goal is to get him regain some of his mobility and independence back.
