On the 25th of feb 2025 my daughter Chanelle 19 years old was admitted to Huddersfield hospital with a suspected infection, after blood tests and bone marrow tests it was diagnosed on the 27th feb that chanelle was suffering from acute myeloid leukaemia. Her treatment of 24 hours continuous chemo followed by an additional two hours daily chemotherapy started promptly and will be ongoing for a minimum of 2 months , but dependant on her body’s acceptance and reaction this could continue for an unknown amount of time. She will then be in an 5 year remission where the Leukaemia has an high chance of returning. Other treatments for her future fertility, physical and mental health will also run along side her daily chemotherapy. Her suffering symptoms to name but a few will include tiredness, hair loss, mouth ulcers, brain fog ,and vomiting as well as an extremely weakened immune system. Due to treatments Chanelle will not be able to continue her law degree in family law until her immune system builds back up and will be unable to work for the foreseeable future , this in itself is a massive blow to Chanelleand the hardworking, kind, supportive, loving and generous person she is . Our target of £15000 will be used to secure Chanelle accommodation close to family and friends so they are able to help with daily care and expenses for travel to and from regular treatments and appointments going forward . We as a family would like to thank everyone in advance for their support however big or small it really means the world to us . X
