I’m reaching out because I’m facing a challenging situation that I can’t navigate alone, and I’m hoping for some support during this difficult time.

I’ve made the decision to leave Pennsylvania and move back to Michigan to be with my family. This decision was not made lightly, as I wish to be closer to my loved ones but also by the need to stand together as a family during an uncertain period. This current administration has raised many concerns about the future. I want to be there with them, to offer my support and help in any way I can.

However, I’m facing financial difficulties with breaking my lease. My roommates are unable or unwilling to sublet, which makes it impossible for me to leave without incurring significant penalties. Unfortunately, I’m living paycheck to paycheck and can’t afford these costs on my own.

I’m turning to mutual aid and the kindness of my community to help cover these expenses. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference as I work to navigate this situation and return home to Michigan to support my family.

Here’s where I need help:

Breaking my lease - The financial penalty is heavy, and I can’t cover it alone. My Lease ends in August so this will be cover rent from April-July!

Moving expenses - I also need assistance with the cost of transportation and moving my belongings back to Michigan.
