Chance has been my best friend since 2021. He was an unexpected addition to my family, but he came at the best possible time. From 2020 to 2023, I went through surgery after surgery to try and save my right leg. Every time I came home, Chance was there, offering comfort and companionship. Those years were incredibly tough, and I drained my savings and nest egg trying to keep up with medical bills and living expenses while being unemployed. I even had to pay out of pocket for a final surgery my insurance wouldn’t cover—the one that ultimately saved my leg and gave me hope again.

Chance isn’t just my pet; he’s my sober companion and my reason to keep going. My battle with addiction started when I was a teenager, but I’m currently in the longest sober streak of my life, and I owe so much of that to him. He’s been by my side through every challenge, and now he needs me more than ever. Recently, Chance has started having medical issues that are proving difficult to diagnose. We’re at the point where the vet is recommending endoscopies, special diets, and a range of tests. As someone who works at a grocery store, these costs are overwhelming, and I’m struggling to keep up.

Money raised from this fundraiser will give us the best chance to get Chance the diagnosis and care he needs. I want to do everything possible to keep my little guy healthy and happy.
