This fundraiser is for one of my closest friends, Chana Fisher. If you know Chana, you know that she has one of the sweetest souls and will do whatever she can to help her loved ones. Now it's time to return the favor and help her in her time of need.

Chana began experiencing severe pain in her lower back and pelvic area a few weeks ago. After a visit to the ER (via ambulance because she couldn't move) that proved unhelpful, an appointment with her PCP who referred her to physical therapy without an MRI or any real investigation into the problem she found herself still suffering with no improvements or any real relief. She was then seen by a spine specialist who finally ordered an MRI and seemed to take her condition more seriously than the previous doctors. The MRI indicated that she has some form of an infection in her SI joint. She was admitted to the hospital (almost 3 weeks after her initial pain started) and has now been there 4 days with no plans for discharge as of yet. She's on IV antibiotics and will likely have to remain on IV antibiotics for 6-12 weeks. She might also need surgery if the antibiotics don't clear enough of the infection. There is also a chance that her SI joint has been damaged by the infection and will need to be surgically repaired once the infection is cleared up. This is going to be a long road to recovery.

Although Chana has health insurance, she is unable to work and isn't getting paid during this ordeal. This fundraiser will remove some of her financial stress, help her pay bills and allow her to focus on healing/getting back on her feet (literally and figuratively). Even the smallest donation will make a big difference and be greatly appreciated. ❤️
