Challenges Games and Comics, a Black-owned business, has been like a second home to me since I moved to the Decatur area. The store is where I have made many of my close connections, and I know I am not the only one who feels this way about the shop. There are many locals who are out here every week playing games and making connections. Tony has been so supportive of not only myself but of the community—he has held many community activities and has supported many local businesses and creators. Challenges Games and Comics recently won City of Tucker's Business of the Month Award (05/27/2026), which shows just how much of an impact the store has had.
Challenges runs the Free Syfy Expo every year and is currently in the works to run a Juneteenth event. The store hosts many events such as Magic pre-releases, HeroClix tournaments, and it is where I personally am able to run my D&D games. These events bring people together, create lasting memories, and make the store a true hub for our community.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time Challenges Games and Comics has been forced to move out of a space due to property closure. However, I would like to try to make it the last time. Funds from this GoFundMe will go directly to the shop so that Tony can find a storefront in relatively the same area that is big enough to accommodate the community he brings in.
If you love having a place where everyone is welcome, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser. Your support will help keep Challenges Games and Comics alive for everyone who calls it home. Thank you for being part of our story!
