Help Chako Heal: Urgent Surgery for a Special Pup

On Tuesday, our beloved Pop passed away after 52 beautiful years of marriage with our Meme. Their love was something truly special—steady, strong, and filled with kindness. Now, in the wake of this heartbreaking loss, our family is grieving deeply.

But there’s one member of the family who doesn’t understand why his best friend isn’t coming home: Chako, their sweet dog and Pop’s constant companion.

Chako and Pop were inseparable. Chako was Pop’s shadow. Losing Pop has been incredibly hard on him—and now, in the midst of his grief, Chako is also facing a serious medical issue: a hernia that requires urgent surgery. Without the procedure, Chako will have to be put to sleep, leaving our Meme to face another heartbreaking loss.

The cost of the procedure is more than our Meme can afford right now, especially with all the sudden expenses that come with losing a loved one. But Chako means the world to her. He’s not just a dog—he’s a piece of Pop that’s still here. Helping Chako heal is one small way we can bring a little comfort and stability back into her life.
