Chaiyakon Prachot has been a dedicated farmer in Waialua at Otake Camp for 15 years, nurturing his land and supporting his community. In March 2026, his life was turned upside down by the devastating Kona Low Storm. The floodwaters swept through in the middle of the night, destroying everything in their path. Chaiyakon lost all his crops, equipment, and even his home. His container, tractor, and years of hard work were submerged, leaving nothing behind.
When the flood hit, Chaiyakon had to climb onto his roof for safety. He was too embarrassed to accept help from the national guard when they came by, not wanting to be seen in his pajamas. It wasn’t until the next day, when friends arrived, that he was finally rescued from Otake. Now, with his home unlivable, Chaiyakon is staying between two friends’ houses, trying to figure out how to rebuild his life.
These funds will be used for immediate and urgent needs to help Chaiyakon get back on his feet after losing so much. Your support will make a real difference as he works to recover from this disaster. Thank you for all your support—every contribution helps bring hope and stability back to Chaiyakon’s life.
