On September 28th, Chad Wreyford, devoted husband, loving father, and fierce friend to so many, suffered a severe stroke that has turned life upside down for him and his family.
The stroke left Chad unable to walk and with left-side neglect. He is currently in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital working through the enormous challenges of recovery. He’s giving it everything he has, and through it all, he hasn’t lost his sense of humor. While his speech is slower than it used to be, he’s fighting hard to get back to chatting just as much as he did before, and if you know Chad, you know that’s saying something.
His wife, Abbi, has been by his side every step of the way, juggling hospital visits, home responsibilities, and caring for their son Noah, who just began his freshman year of college this fall. With Chad unable to work for the foreseeable future, they are now facing overwhelming medical and financial hurdles including the need to make critical updates to their home so Chad can return safely, and the staggering costs of long-term rehabilitation.
Chad’s ongoing neuro rehabilitation is expected to cost at least $50,000, which is not covered by insurance. This specialized therapy is essential for his recovery and long-term independence, helping him regain mobility, communication, and day-to-day function.
This fundraiser will help support the Wreyfords with:
• Home modifications for accessibility and safety (bathroom updates, mobility aids, etc.)
• The $50,000+ cost of ongoing neurological rehabilitation and medical care
• Day-to-day living needs while Chad continues his recovery
Chad and Abbi have always been the kind of people who show up for others, now it’s our turn to show up for them. Whether you can donate, share, or simply send them love and encouragement, every gesture matters.
With your support, we’re hoping to get Chad back on his feet and maybe even back to the golf course, where he can resume slicing drives, missing putts, and blaming his clubs for absolutely everything.
Thank you for helping lighten the load for this wonderful family during such a challenging chapter.
