Help the Whiteside Family After Chad's Traumatic Brain Injury

If you attended SUNY Geneseo between 1994 and 1998, chances are you knew Kristy Tronolone (Whiteside). Her infectious smile, contagious laugh, and incredible generosity left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was the kind of person who lifted everyone around her and was always there with a kind word or a helping hand.

Today, Kristy and her family need our help.

On May 30, 2025, Kristy’s husband, Chad Whiteside, suffered a devastating traumatic brain injury. Chad is a devoted father to their two boys, Canyon and Crew, and a loving partner to Kristy. Since the injury, their lives have been turned upside down. Chad currently receives daily in-home physical, occupational, and speech therapy—but his long-term cognitive recovery remains uncertain.

Kristy has had to return to work while Chad requires constant care. Their families are stepping in where they can, but the emotional and financial strain is overwhelming. From medical bills to caregiving expenses, the costs are mounting fast.

Despite everything, Kristy remains strong and grateful:

"We are so grateful for the love and support we’ve received. Chad is working hard every day in therapy. He even pulled out his trach himself—and the doctors decided not to put it back in. He’s still fighting, and we’re staying hopeful."

Their Utah community has already shown incredible generosity—providing meals, gift cards, and even safety renovations through Chad’s employer, Snowbird. But the financial burden continues to grow, with mounting medical expenses, co-pays, and the everyday costs of life on a single income.

Now, we’re turning to Kristy’s Geneseo family—and beyond—to help ease the financial burden and allow this amazing family to focus on what matters most: healing.

Your donation will help cover:

• Ongoing therapy and rehabilitation
• Medical co-pays and out-of-pocket expenses
• In-home caregiving support
• Childcare and living expenses during this difficult time

Please contribute what you can—and share this page widely.

Let’s remind Kristy and her family what it means to be Geneseo strong.

Now is the time to return the love she gave so freely to all of us.

With gratitude,
And love in filia,
Alpha Delta Epsilon
