Help Chad get his life back… he has so much more to live!

My name is Natalie Higgins and I truly appreciate you taking a moment to read our story. My fiancé Chad Cantin had a Intracerebral Hemorrhage in the brain which was caused by hypertension by ruptured tiny arteries within his brain tissue. It causes blood to pool between his brain and skull. It prevented oxygen from reaching his brain causing increased pressure on his brain. Since this bleed happened on the left side of brain close to his Cerebellum, this is the result of his traumatic brain injury. This is why he is having trouble with speech, memory, vision, and moving the right side of his body. So at this time our family has come into this tragedy and we are raising funds to help support Chad‘s medical and family expenses. Chad needs all the recovery time he can get… the doctors say it could take up to six months to a year for him to regain most of these neurological nerves back, praying there hasn’t been any permanent damage. ♥️
This happened on July 25th in the morning around 3 am once I realized something was wrong with Chad I called the ambulance. Scarborough general was the closest hospital they did a CT scan and seen he had bleeding in his brain… within a few hours they transferred us to Toronto Western hospital downtown where he ended up having surgery around 7 o’clock to relieve the blood and pressure in Chads brain and saved his life. After a successful surgery, Chad was in ICU for about two weeks then went down to the level 2 care for another two weeks. We later were transferred on August 25th back to Scarborough General for the transition period. Unfortunately, once Chad was assessed he was not eligible for the stroke rehab because he did not pass all the qualifications. Chad has been progressing very well but these injuries have taken a toll on his consciousness and independences for him not to be eligible for the stroke rehab facilities. ♥️
So as of now Sept 17th, Chad has been transferred to Bayshore healthcare integration care solutions. Where he will go through a 60 day rehabilitation program before transitioning back to his home life with our blended family… Our two-year-old daughter Camree, my two children Michael and Alexandra and his sons Damani, khani and Carson. ♥️
Chad is a self-employed subcontractor for Lakeside working as a gasfitterfitter for Embridge … so he did not have any EI benefits or any insurance behind him. I know Chad would love to get back to his family and work, but definitely needs a tremendous time to recover fully. I definitely don’t think it’s fair he didn’t get the chance to go to a stroke rehab facility and then ending up being sent to a nursing home reactive facility but hopefully with these donations we can continue on with physio and a speech therapist when he is transitioned home. So I am praying this information has touched your heart for my fiancé Chad Cantin who has such a loving soul and is loved by many… So once again thank you for taking the time and any donations would be greatly appreciated at this time to help him on his road to recovery. ♥️
