Help Chad and April
Hi everyone, it’s time to pull our village together and provide some support for Chad, April and their boys as Chad fights through a medical emergency. I hope I can get all the details right…
On July 12th, Chad was admitted to the ER with suspicions of a blood clot in his lungs. He had a CT scan but it was determined that was not the case. Rather, they found that his abdomen was really descended and was therefore to undergo a contrast scan to identify a possible obstruction or tear. At the time, he was doing okay, but very short of breath.
The next update was severe pancreatitis. They attempted to drain and clear the blockage with an (NG) tube, meds and lots of fluids - without surgical intervention. He was being closely monitored by the surgeon(s) at this time. The blockage began to clear, and the pancreatitis started to improve. They continued suction and had anticipated being released soon from the hospital. Unfortunately, Chad’s circumstances started to decline. His CO2 levels rose, he was moved into ICU and put on a ventilator/life support.
Chad has been, or will be transported to, Bangor. (It’s been a few hours since I heard an update.) With further testing, they were unable to see a kink as an obstruction but due to it not passing and gastroparesis, coupled with developed pneumonia, Bangor was determined the best option for the possibility of surgery.
Both Chad and April will be out of work for quite some time, and sick leave will only last so long. With an extended stay in Bangor, travel, medical copays, etc., the Stallings could really use our prayers and support for the days to come. Chads recovery will be challenging over the next few months, with many variables and obstacles in their way.
Please help in anyway you can - financially and/or spiritually, and at the very least, please share this link so we can ease some of the stress on (especially) April’s heavy heart right now.
