I'm sharing this under my online identity to protect my family's privacy.
Our child was born with extensive and unexpected medical complications. From the very beginning, our lives became a cycle of hospital stays, specialist visits, and emergency care. We would do it all again without hesitation- but the reality is the time required to care for our child came at a devastating financial burden.
Like many families facing serious medical issues, we relied on FMLA to be present for our child during repeated hospitalizations. While FMLA protected our jobs, it did not protect our income. As the months passed. reduced pay and mounting medical expenses made it impossible for us to keep up.
Despite cutting every non-essential expense and trying to catch up, we fell behind on our home payments. A judgement has now been entered against us, putting our housing at immediate risk- at the same time we are still managing past-due medical bills.
We are asking for help to stabilize our situation and keep our family housed while we continue caring for our child.
We are fundraising to:
- Reverse the housing judgement and stop further legal action
- Catch up on critical past-due housing payments
- Pay down outstanding medical bills related to our child's care
Every dollar goes directly toward keeping a roof over our heads and addressing the medical debt created by circumstances we could not control.
