Support Cesar & Marnie Through a Medical Crisis
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister and brother-in-law, Marnie and Cesar Nieves, who are going through an incredibly tough time right now and could really use a little help and support.
A little over a week ago, Cesar traveled from Arizona to Oklahoma to visit his parents for his Dad's 80th birthday. While there, a sore on his foot—which had already been treated by a doctor—suddenly got much worse. After a visit to urgent care, he was put on antibiotics for what they thought was cellulitis. But just a couple days later, he was rushed to the ER. That same day, he went into emergency surgery and was diagnosed with necrotizing fasciitis, a rare and very serious infection.
Cesar has had three surgeries so far and is still in the hospital. The doctors are doing everything they can to save his leg and avoid amputation. It’s going to be a long road—he’ll be out of work for at least six weeks, and we’re not sure yet when he’ll be well enough to travel back home to Arizona.
To make things even harder, Cesar and Marnie had just moved into a new home in Lake Havasu with their four kids the week before he left. The day after Marnie flew to Oklahoma to be by his side, their family dog Clover passed away—adding even more heartbreak to an already overwhelming time. Their kids—two adults and two teens—have been holding things down at home while facing all of this at once: worrying about their dad, missing their mom, and grieving their pup. On top of it all, they’ve had to navigate end-of-year school events on their own, and Marnie and Cesar have sadly missed out on their daughters' band concerts and other special moments they were looking forward to.
We’re hoping to raise at least $5,000 to help cover:
Cesar’s medical bills
Travel expenses to bring him home when he’s able
Help with bills and daily expenses while he’s out of work
If you’re able to give, even a little, it would mean so much to their family. And if you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page or keeping Cesar and Marnie in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for reading, caring, and supporting this amazing family during such a hard time. Every bit of love and help truly makes a difference.
With love,
Stephanie Emerson
