César (17) has acute leukemia and has started the 28-day induction cycle (POLA protocol). Recent results brought hope: spinal fluid cytology is clear and the BCR-ABL PCR is negative. He’s needed blood transfusions, labs, nursing visits, and daily medications to stay on schedule.

• Cytarabine (Alexan®/Ara-C) 100 mg preservative-free for two upcoming intrathecal doses

• Vincristine 1 mg – 2 vials

• Palonosetron 0.25 mg – 1 ampoule

• Labs, supplies, and nursing to keep induction on track

Who withdraws funds

Funds are withdrawn by Claret Toms (USA, organizer) and sent to pay providers directly or transferred to César’s mother María in Venezuela for medical bills. We keep and share receipts.

Background (diagnosis)

My cousin, César Antonio Araujo Castillo, is only 17 years old and lives in Venezuela with his mom. Just a few days ago, he was diagnosed with acute leukemia.

Right now, the doctors are completing a bone marrow test in Caracas to confirm the exact type of leukemia, so they can begin treatment as soon as possible. These first days have been heartbreaking and overwhelming for all of us. César and his mom have almost nothing, and even getting to the hospital or paying for the lab tests has been a challenge.

Our family is spread around the world. I’m in the United States, and others are in Spain and Chile, but we’re all coming together to help him fight for his life.

About César

César is a kind, humble, and loving 17-year-old. He has a golden retriever named Rubi, his loyal companion, and he loves spending time with her. He recently began studying Systems Engineering at UNEG University in Puerto Ordaz, something he worked very hard for — he has always been an A student, passionate about learning and technology.

He loves his family, music, and helping others. Whenever someone in his neighborhood or family needed help, especially the elderly, César was always the first to offer. Whether it was running errands, helping carry groceries, or fixing something small, he did it with a smile and a big heart.

Antecedentes (diagnóstico)

Mi primo, César Antonio Araujo Castillo, tiene solo 17 años y vive en Venezuela con su mamá. Hace apenas unos días fue diagnosticado con leucemia aguda.

En este momento, los médicos están realizando un análisis de médula ósea en Caracas para confirmar el tipo exacto de leucemia y poder comenzar el tratamiento lo antes posible. Estos primeros días han sido muy duros para todos nosotros. César y su mamá prácticamente no tienen recursos, y hasta trasladarse al hospital o pagar los exámenes ha sido una gran dificultad.

Nuestra familia está repartida por el mundo —yo vivo en Estados Unidos, y otros familiares están en España y Chile— pero todos estamos unidos para ayudarlo a luchar por su vida.

Sobre César

César es un joven de 17 años muy noble, alegre y lleno de amor. Tiene una perrita golden retriever llamada Rubi, su fiel compañera, con quien le encanta pasar el tiempo. Hace poco comenzó sus estudios de Ingeniería en Sistemas en la UNEG de Puerto Ordaz, un logro por el que se esforzó mucho —siempre ha sido un estudiante sobresaliente, dedicado y apasionado por el aprendizaje y la tecnología.

Ama a su familia, la música y ayudar a los demás. Siempre que alguien en su comunidad o familia necesitaba ayuda, especialmente las personas mayores, César era el primero en ofrecerse. Hacer mandados, ayudar a cargar cosas o arreglar algo pequeño, siempre con una sonrisa y un gran corazón.
