Help Cesar Cantu Recover After Life-Saving Heart Surgeries

On May 26th, our dear friend, Cesar Cantu, suffered a massive heart attack. He was urgently transported by ambulance from Eagle Lake to St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston. What followed were three major surgeries and a fight for his life that we’ll never forget.

Cesar’s Medical Journey

1st Surgery:

Cesar was placed on an ECMO machine to support both his heart and lungs due to aspiration complications. He was also placed on a ventilator and an Impella device to assist his heart. Basically, his body was being run by machines.

2nd Surgery:

The initial ECMO and Impella were removed and replaced with a stronger Impella 5.5 to keep his heart functioning. A few days later, the ventilator was successfully removed.

3rd Surgery (June 10, 2025):

The Impella 5.5 was removed—marking a huge step forward in Cesar’s recovery journey.

Then on June 19th, 2025:

Cesar contracted a bacterial infection, at which time he was transported to St Luke's as they treat this infection.
