Hello! A few months ago, my friend Cem was coming home from a long day at work when he got in a minor accident with a gang of motorcyclists in Los Angeles. One of them was going the wrong way down the street and crashed into his car. Being the good person that he is, Cem got out to help the guy up (he was fine). But then the rest of the guys swarmed him and beat him in the street, breaking multiple ribs. They broke all the windows of his car, stole his phone and valuable audio equipment from his backseat.

When police arrived, the gang fled the scene. Cem was advised by paramedics to go to the hospital, where he stayed for two days. The police had his car towed.

The impound lot is now demanding several thousand dollars to have his car released...but even then, there is now a ton of water damage to the interior due to it being outside without windows during the rainy season a few months ago. Even then, his car insurance has said they wouldn't be able to cover anything. All told, his car is a lost cause.

Cem has no family support here, as he's in the US on asylum from Turkey. He works in the entertainment industry, and work has been slow. I'm trying to help him at LEAST get a car so he can easily get to and from work and wherever he needs to go.
