Hello, my name is Celeste Salgado Ingle. I am 15 years old and an aspiring actress. For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to act. It’s something that has inspired and interested me in so many different ways. Everyone has something they are passionate about, and this is mine. Imagine you get the opportunity to work towards achieving your dreams, no matter what they are, and go out and do what you love so much, you would want to take it. This is why this GoFundMe is so crucial to what I want to do.
Acting touches people in ways that are so beautiful, it makes you feel emotions for characters and have empathy for people. You almost live in a storyline while watching someone act. This is why I want to be an actress. I want to make people feel things and feel connected and emotional. I want people to relate to the characters and feel like they are almost living that life with the character. I want to play incredible, emotional, and complex characters that just take your breath away when you watch them. I see that and know that’s what I want to do, and that I will do anything to make it happen.
I believe that every person should practice some form of art in their life. Whether it’s acting, singing, painting, drawing, or anything that makes you feel happy and free, then you should do it. This is why I need your help. I would like to attend the High School Conservatory program at the college AMDA in LA. It’s an amazing opportunity for me to grow my skills and take my career a step further.
A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM
The AMDA High School Summer Conservatory - Acting for Stage & Screen program offers an exploration into new texts and current playwrights under the direction of AMDA’s stellar faculty and working artists. This program also provides navigation through the world of on-camera acting through intensive study and performance. Students will gain an insider’s perspective on the film and television industries by working on-camera with some of the finest actors and directors in the business. By the end of the session, students will have an in-camera scene for their actor’s reel that highlights their very best. In addition to this, the session ends with an opportunity to audition for AMDA College and alternative AMDA High School Conservatory Programs as well as a final presentation for family and friends.
This program includes me flying out to LA for two weeks to stay on the AMDA College campus. We will be practicing things such as acting classes, audition practice, singing, and theatre all day, every day.
I would also gain college credit through this program, which would give me a great head start for my future.
My goals for my career are so big, but I have to start somewhere. I hope to go to college to study acting professionally and to put myself out there in the industry in the next couple of years while I’m still in high school, which is why this program is so important. To be able to be with people who love the same things I do and have similar goals would be truly amazing and would motivate me to continue with my dream.
I know that this program will help me in many ways. I’ll grow as an actress and learn new things. I know I need to truly have a chance at accomplishing the goals I want more than anything. If you have something to spare to help a girl achieve her dreams, please donate. Thank you!
A MESSAGE FROM CELESTE'S MOM
I can't stress enough the drive and ambition Celeste has to become an actress. It is truly her passion, and she dedicates an incredible amount of time and energy to making her dreams come true.
Celeste has performed in local community theaters, works very hard by studying with the Young Actors' Studio based out of Hollywood, and is constantly auditioning for roles. Just last year, she was in a TV pilot for a Star Wars series (that sadly never made it to the screen).
Celeste found the AMDA High School Conservatory and applied completely on her own. It was only after she was accepted to this prestigious program that we got involved as parents. I am very proud of the work she is putting into her career. I want her to achieve her dreams, and truly hope you will consider donating so she can attend!
The program is two weeks long, includes room and board, as well as off-campus trips to nearby film museums and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She travels out to L.A. on her own (and is picked up at the airport by program staff). At the end of the two-week program, I will fly out to see her final performance, then the next day help her pack up to come home. (We may go to the beach for a few hours too!)
Celeste earned a $1,500 merit-based scholarship from multiple audition reels she submitted. We are so grateful and proud of her for earning this scholarship. However, we have more funds to cover and can't afford it on our own. We need to raise another $5,250 to cover the costs. Here is the cost breakdown below:
- Remaining Tuition - $4,000
- Plane tickets to L.A. for Celeste and Kyra (Celeste's mom) - $250 x 2 = $500
- Hotel for Kyra (Celeste's mom) for two nights and Celeste’s last night - $250 / night x 2 = $500
- Snacks, field trip costs, and off-campus meals for Celeste - $250
Total = $5,250
We need to raise this full amount no later than June 6, 2025, which is the day before the full tuition deadline.
