Spinal Cord Injury, helping Celeste walk.

Donation protected

Our mother is Celeste Nocera. On June 23rd, she suffered a devastating spinal cord injury. She was outside watering her plants when she tripped and fell. The fall caused a traumatic epidural hematoma of her spinal cord from C2-C6. Her injury was life-threatening. She was unable to move, and she had no sensation of pain. Emergency surgery was performed to decompress her spinal cord. She continues to have neurological deficits despite the surgery. Her spinal cord injury has resulted in tetraplegia, a severe form of paralysis that causes motor and sensory loss in an individual's torso and all extremities.

Celeste has been in three different hospitals since her accident. Shortly after her injury, she spent 12 days at my home on hospice. The last few months have been long and hard, but she has never given up, and on September 8th, she will return home.

Funds are in need to help cover the cost of medical expenses, caregivers, equipment, supplies and accessibility modifications, including wheelchair ramps, a stair lift, a handicap shower and doors for her safety and independence.

If you are able to help our mother in any way, please know that we are very grateful. We thank you and appreciate any contributribution, whether through prayer, words of support or a donation.
