Hayley Jane Lopez was a shining and bright fighter who lived with a rare genetic mutation. No matter how much pain she was in, she faced every day with a radiant smile and a light that touched everyone around her. She was the heart of our family—my mom’s world, my baby sister, and a source of inspiration for all of us. My mom dedicated herself to advocating for Hayley, teaching her, and making sure she could keep shining her light for 15 beautiful years.
On December 16th, 2025, Hayley passed away from sepsis caused by a puncture in her intestines. She fought bravely until her last breath, letting us know she was finally pain-free and wanted my mom to know she was okay. Hayley left us with a smile on her face, a final gift of peace and love. My mom has been unable to work while caring for Hayley, and now, as she faces funeral expenses and mounting bills, she is overwhelmed with grief and worry about how to pay for everything.
I want to help my mom celebrate Hayley’s life, because even through so many rare medical events and challenges, Hayley taught us to be fighters and to find light in the darkest moments. I want my mom to have a moment to breathe, to grieve, and to know she has help from everyone who loved Hayley. Any support you can give would mean the world to our family as we honor Hayley’s memory and help my mom through this difficult time.
