Help us celebrate Elmarie’s 100th Birthday!
A lifelong educator, devoted church member of the Church of The Living God and widow of a Montford Point Marine honored with the Congressional Gold Medal, Elmarie’s century of faith, service, and resilience deserves a joyful celebration. Your support will help honor her remarkable legacy.
We are raising funds to celebrate an extraordinary milestone — the 100th birthday of Elmarie, a woman whose life has been defined by service, faith, strength, and love.
Born and raised in Arkansas, Elmarie dedicated her career to educating young minds as a school teacher with the Oakland Unified School District, with additional years of service at Helen Turner’s School and Castro Valley High School. Her commitment to education shaped generations of students and left a lasting impact on her community.
Beyond her professional life, Elmarie has been a devoted member of the Church of The Living God where she faithfully served her church family through prayer, encouragement, and steadfast commitment. Her faith has been a cornerstone of her life and a source of strength and guidance to those around her.
Elmarie is also the widow of a WWII Montford Point Marine, among the trailblazers who broke racial barriers in the United States Marine Corps. Elmarie stood proudly beside her husband in 2019 when he was awarded a Congressional Gold Medal for his lifetime of service and sacrifice as a WWII Montford Point Marine.
As she approaches her 100th birthday, our family hopes to honor Elmarie with a celebration worthy of her legacy — bringing together loved ones, old friends, former students, fellow church members, and community supporters to recognize a century well lived.
“With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.”
— Psalm 91:16 (KJV)
