Elijah Blue Rodriguez (1995–2025)

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Elijah “Eli” Blue Rodriguez on November 15, 2025, at the age of 30 in Highlands Ranch, CO. Born on May 3, 1995, in Los Gatos, CA to Shelley and Peter Rodriguez, Eli spent his childhood in San Jose, CA before moving with his family to Highlands Ranch in 2006. He attended Mountain Ridge Middle School and Mountain Vista High School, later earning a degree in Economics with a minor in Business from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Eli lives on in spirit through his loving parents, Peter and Shelley; his brothers, Gabe and Josh; and his grandparents, Connie, Pete, and Sylvia. He now joins his late grandfather, John, in paradise. His family adored him for his gregarious personality, his ability to make anyone laugh, and his genuine love for all things sports. Affectionately known as the “golden child,” Eli’s innate athleticism and magnetic presence made him a natural social butterfly.

He will also be remembered fondly by his many close friends, many of whom had been by his side since middle or high school. Together, they shared countless adventures—golfing, watching Marvel movie premieres, gaming late into the night, and blasting music wherever they went, with Eli always taking over the Bluetooth speakers. They bonded through their shared love of sports, participating in yearly fantasy leagues and attending games whenever they could. Eli also found joy in watching every scary movie possible, insisting to put them on whether his friends liked it or not.

At home, Eli held a special place in his heart for Remi, the family’s beloved Bichon Frise, whom he spoiled endlessly—sometimes intentionally, sometimes by simply letting his guard down at dinnertime. He additionally joins his late furry companions, Sienna and Sophie.

After college, Eli began a meaningful career as an Admissions Advisor with Orbis, partnered with Concordia St. Paul University, where he recruited, enrolled, and supported students pursuing accelerated nursing programs. His dedication to helping others chart their futures was a reflection of his generous spirit.

A lifelong athlete, Eli played competitive hockey for teams like Team Northwest, the San Jose Jr. Sharks, Nike Bauer Selects, Colorado Thunderbirds, Littleton Hawks, the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles, and several other select teams. His love for the sport carried into adulthood as a diehard fan of the San Jose Sharks. This season, he was especially thrilled by Macklin Celebrini’s breakout performance in the 2025–2026 NHL season. He also passionately supported the Denver Broncos, the Golden State Warriors, the Denver Nuggets, and the Colorado Avalanche. Sports were woven into the fabric of Eli’s life, and he cheered for his teams with unmatched enthusiasm, except on the days they gave him grief by losing.

Eli also had a proudly nerdy side. He loved anime, especially One Piece, that he forcibly made his brothers watch until they too were big fans of the show. He had also recently started building an impressive Pokémon card collection. He enjoyed saving unopened card packs to open with family and friends, turning a simple hobby into shared moments of joy.

Those who knew Eli will always remember him as a steady presence—a rock to so many. He had a propensity to inspire, hype up, and celebrate the successes of the people he loved, while also offering open shoulders to cry on open ears to listen without judgment during life’s hardest moments. His infectious laugh, goofy dances, playful faces in photos, and ability to find lightness in life will be forever missed. We couldn’t have asked for a better son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, or friend. Eli will be missed every day, but his love and spirit will continue to live on in all who knew him.

The Rodriguez family will be holding a small private viewing for close family and friends. A Celebration of Life is being planned for December or January, with details to be shared soon.

We thank all in advance for the love and compassion shared with all of us as we honor Elijah Blue’s memory.
