I'm an aunt raising funds for her celebration of life service and hospital expenses for my niece, Avaya, who passed 5/21/24. She had a rare chromosome 13 deletion genetic disorder and was a happy and sassy little fighter. She spent her first 4 months in the Helen Devos NICU where she had the staff wrapped around her little fingers. Her life was a miracle and so many got to witness the joy and hope that she was. Avaya thrived once she came home with family and brothers that adored her.

Last week, complications stemming from her disorder arose and she weakened quickly, needing to be intubated and sedated. Yesterday, sweet Avaya passed away surrounded by her family. Her sudden passing has left her family heartbroken, but also did not allow for preparations to be made in advance.

The celebration of Avaya's life is to be held for all those who have loved, prayed, supported and cared for her. Please consider contributing in memory of her. Any excess money will help towards her medical expenses.
