Help Cedric Heal and Rebuild After Burn Injury

Hello, I am Bridgette Sanders, and I am creating this fund on behalf of my son Cedric. Cedric is a 27 year-old father of a 2-year-old daughter, who is the light of his eyes. On Monday, Oct 14, 2024, Cedric suffered horrible 3rd degree burns over 17% of his lower extremities while attempting to cook some lunch for his daughter. As he walked over to the refrigerator, a pot of grease caught fire. Cedric immediately put it out with an extinguisher; however, the flames reignited, catching his pajamas on fire. Fearing that his daughter Kamila would be burned, he inadvertently knocked the pot away from her direction, causing the flaming grease to spread to his clothing.

Due to a mix-up when renting their apartment, we found out that the rental insurance does not cover their personal losses, only the structure. The apartment that was originally rented had insurance; however, that apartment was switched out for another by management at the very last minute, and according to the leasing office, they had already placed renter’s insurance on the new unit, it was inferred that his policy was not needed.

We are looking to raise money to help with the unexpected expenses of having to suddenly move and being off from work for an extended period of time to recover. He has health insurance and disability, however it will take time to get started. We were just informed that he will have to be on an extremely high 4000-calorie diet to aid in his recovery, as well as extensive physical therapy. This will help Cedric, Samayra and Kamila restart their lives. As a family, we thank everyone in advance for your continued love, thoughts, and prayers.
