Help Cedar Heal from Attack
Donation protected
Cedar was brutally attacked by other dogs. His throat was ripped open. His esophagus was lacerated. He needed immediate medical attention.
His owner was a woman experiencing homelessness, and was unable to pay for the cost of the emergency treatment. I helped out, hoping I could recover some of the cost via crowdfunding, and cedar received emergency surgery and multiple stitches on his throat and face. After the surgery, I found out, in order to heal from the attack, he would need ongoing medical care.
His former owner could not return to the encampment where she lived, because he dogs that attacked Cedar were still there and the vet said they would attack him again if he returned injured. danger. This meant his owner's already difficult situation, would be made even more difficult with a now- high-needs dog. She also wasn’t in a position to provide the intensive, daily medical care Cedar now requires to heal and stay infection-free, as well as cover the costs of follow-up vet visits. She loved him a lot but ultimately made the decision that was best for cedar.
I’ve have adopted him provide medical care and get him back to health.
I’m raising funds to cover Cedar’s continued medical care over the next month. Every donation helps ensure he gets the treatment, medication, and support he needs to fully heal and be successfully re-homed.
Thank you so much for helping give Cedar a second chance.
