Greetings family, friends and readers. My name is Daniel and I’ve created this GoFund me with an extremely heavy heart to support my wife Cecily on her recovery from brain surgery. On June 13, 2024 Cecily tragically collapsed into my arms after experiencing complete numbness and weakness in her right leg. Cecily immediately started to seize as I rushed to call 911. When I arrived at UC Davis Medical Center Sacramento I was informed that they needed to perform an emergency Craniotomy, which is a surgical procedure that involves removing a portion of the skull to expose the brain for surgery, due to an intracerebral hemorrhage . An intracerebral hemorrhage occurs when a blood vessel in the brain leaks or burst. As a result, that area of the brain becomes damaged from the lack of blood and oxygen and from a pooling of leaked blood that presses on the brain tissue. After a long operation the Nuero Surgeon informed my family and I that Cecily suffered a brain Arteriovenous malformation or a AVM. An AVM is a condition that means the arteries and veins are tangled in a certain area in the brain. If they become tangled, blood cannot travel to where it is needed. Thus resulting in a hemorrhage stroke. Cecilys AVM was successfully removed however she will still require many months of arduous and tailsome recovery.

Throughout my wife’s journey to recovery, Cecily will be unable to work for an extensive period of time as she will now have to relearn all normal daily task and activities needed for daily survival. Any and all support given will allow our family to help alleviate any unforeseen medical expenses that may occur on her long road to recovery.
